Little Lion Man - Tonight Alive
Remember Paramore? Didn’t think so…and to be fair there’s been plenty of similar sounding bands doing their thing of late who haven’t felt compelled to do songs for Twilight films!
Over the last two years both VersaEmerge and Hey Monday have showed that Paramore really aren’t so unique and that a pop-punk band can indeed by fronted by a young female and work well.
Tonight Alive are another band to add to this list…hailing from Australia and signed to the key ‘emo’ label ‘Fearless’, they are a 5 piece with a pretty young female taking vocals…Whilst not sounding too much like Hayley Williams, when lead singer Jenna McDougall really goes for it, well erm…she really does!
Anyways I like this cover…it’s the best of a fucking terrible bunch from Pop Goes Punk 4…enjoy!
(Also for the record i’d like to point out I was a massive fan of Paramore back in the ‘Pressure’ days, I just feel they became such a horrible ‘singalong’ pop band and lost the edge they always had…VersaEmerge have released a very solid album and their songs are decent but I don’t think Sierra’s voice is that special and Hey Monday have indeed got a great vocalist in Cassadee but their a bit of a ‘wet’ paramore)
